๐ฟ Your moods stay on your phone.
Mood 2 works without an account. By default, your mood taps, likes, skips and hides are stored only on this device so the app can pick better videos for you. Nothing is sent to us.
You can use every feature of Mood 2 without joining the research pool.
Help teach AI how people actually feel (optional, 18+)
We're building an anonymous research pool of mood feedback. It shows which kinds of videos actually help people when they feel happy, sad, angry or chill. The pool may be licensed to AI companies to train AI that understands emotions better.
Joining is entirely up to you. If you say no, nothing about the app changes.
What we'd collect if you join
Mood taps: the mood you pick before a session and how you feel after it.
Like / skip / hide: what you did with each of the 6 videos.
Watch time: roughly how many seconds you watched each video.
Optional notes: only if you type one. Please don't include your name or anything identifying.
A random device ID: a random code made on this phone. It isn't your name, email, phone number or advertising ID.
Video category info, such as "Short" or "music". [exact fields to be confirmed]
What we never collect
YouTube video IDs, titles, links or channels. We record what you did and how you felt, not which exact video you watched.
Your name, email, phone number, contacts or precise location.
Your YouTube or Google account. Mood 2 has no login.
Your camera, microphone or face.
Who can see it
Mood 2 (the app's developer), and AI companies or research groups that license the pool. They only get the records above, tied to random device IDs.
Your controls, anytime
Withdraw (stop sending), delete your research data, or reset your device ID, all in Settings โ Privacy. Data that was already licensed and delivered before a deletion request may not be recoverable from a buyer. [counsel to confirm]
Authorization to sell my mood data
This is separate from joining the pool. It's modeled on the "valid authorization" elements in Washington's My Health My Data Act (RCW 19.373). Counsel to confirm when it's needed.
Data to be sold: my mood taps (before/after), like/skip/hide actions, watch time per video, optional notes, video category info, and a random device ID.
Buyer(s):[name and contact details of each purchaser]. If no buyer is named yet, this screen must not be shown.
Purpose: the data was collected from my use of Mood 2 when I chose a mood and reacted to videos. The buyer will use it to research and train AI systems that recognize and respond to human emotions.
Not required: Mood 2 will work exactly the same if I don't sign this. Getting the app or any feature doesn't depend on it.
Revoking: I can revoke this at any time in Settings โ Privacy โ "Revoke sale authorization", or by emailing [privacy email].
Redisclosure: once sold, the data may be redisclosed by the buyer and may no longer be protected by the law that protects it today.
Expires: one year after signing, on -.
Signature
Date: -. [Counsel: decide whether to store signatures apart from research data]
Your research data
Draft prototype: deletion here only clears this phone's saved choices. In production, "Delete my research data" must also send a deletion request for the device ID to the research backend.
